Cafe Alf Resco Dartmouth

We provide year-round accommodation above the café, with access either through the café on Lower Street or via 47 Newcomen Road, where there is on-street parking just outside. Look for the Dartmouth Fitness clinic.

We are open 7 days a week from 7am till 2pm all year. As well as the popular Alf’s full breakfast, which includes our special-recipe sausages, we serve filled baguettes, pastries, toasties and summer lunchtime specials. There is a wide selection of drinks to choose from, including local organic fruit juices and ales, and we are fully licensed.

The Captain's Cabin

On the top floor is a self-contained flat with stunning views over the River Dart and out to sea. The flat has a large double bed and en-suite facilities including shower, bidet and double sinks. There is a fully equipped kitchen area, including laundry facilities, large dining area & LCD TV.

Not only does the balcony offer stunning views of the Dart estuary, but also allows visitors to experience the bustling heart of Dartmouth from up high, and to see the sun rise over beautiful Kingswear, across the river from Dartmouth.

The Captain's Cabin has a tasteful nautical theme.

B&B Rooms

On the floor below we have 2 B&B rooms. The first is the King Size Alf's, a large private double room with en-suite shower room, fridge & LCD TV. There is also a cot provided. The second room is the Crew Quarters and is a twin bunkroom with en-suite shower and LCD TV. Both rooms are decorated in a fresh, bright style, incorporating artwork by local artists. Complementary tea and coffee is provided in the rooms.

Breakfast or brunch can be taken downstairs in the café at your leisure. A combination of the two B&B rooms with or without the self-catering flat would be ideal for families, sleeping up to 6, plus a cot.

Alf's Above Town Room is situated a short walk from the cafe in picturesque Above Town. The accommodation comprises a private double room with en-suite bathroom. Free wi-fi, coffee and tea making facilities and fantastic river views to wake up to. breakfast or brunch can be taken in the cafe at your leisure.
